Jorge Aguilar is from Savannah, Georgia, where he was active in his school’s Math Club and volunteered time and talent to America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia’s mobile food pantry box. Jorge also could often be found working with his family members in their grocery store and restaurant. Jorge is majoring in electrical engineering.
Lorika Chery is from Port St. Lucie, Florida, and an accomplished ballerina with the St. Lucie Ballet. She worked as an intern with the U.S. Sailing Center in Martin County, learning about and helping with boat maintenance. She was an active volunteer with her school’s Key Club, a service and leadership organization. Lorika is majoring in industrial engineering.
Christopher Copeland hails from Stone Mountain, Georgia, where he was a dual athlete on his school’s basketball and baseball teams. He served as a student ambassador, helping with public events and talking with prospective students about his school. He also has been an active volunteer with Labre Homeless Ministry. Christopher is majoring in mechanical engineering.
Riley Fecker from Monroe, North Carolina, was a cross-country athlete and an active member of her school’s speech and debate club. During summers, she often worked as a crew member with Siler Presbyterian, building access ramps, roofing, painting, and completing other needed renovations for low-income families. Riley is majoring in nuclear and radiological engineering.
Frank George is from Savannah, Georgia, where he often could be found in the outfield for his school’s baseball team. He participated in the Jenkins Secretary of State Student Ambassadors program, promoting the importance of voting through infographics, informational videos, and voter registration drives. Frank is majoring in aerospace engineering.
From Alpharetta, Georgia, Sarah Massey is a talented pianist with the Northlake Children’s Chorus and Music Academy. She created a running class for her neighborhood and runs as a pacer for half marathons. Sarah also is passionate about animal and farming care. She worked with several community organizations dedicated to animal welfare. Sarah is majoring in chemical and biomolecular engineering.
Raul Olmedo has spent years playing club soccer around his hometown of Belmar, New Jersey, as well as for his high school soccer team. When he wasn’t on the pitch, Raul spent time volunteering with Squan-A-Thon, a nonprofit that provides financial and emotional support to families affected by pediatric cancer and other illnesses. Raul is majoring in chemical and biomolecular engineering.
Carter Watson is from Nashville, Georgia, where he was active in Future Farmers of America and swine show exhibitions. He also was a member of his school’s trap shooting team. Carter worked with Let Everyone Attend and Participate (L.E.A.P), a multipurpose organization helping support Medicaid patients with unmet needs and providing opportunities for children to participate in sports. Carter is majoring in civil engineering.
Chloe Weed from Severn, Maryland, ran indoor and outdoor track and played rugby with her high school teams. She was an intern leader with Farming with Kindness, an organization that promotes and encourages sustainable farming practices through education and research. Chloe is majoring in environmental engineering.
